The problem

The thing you keep meaning to fix usually needs a few skills at once — the software, the AI piece, maybe a sensor or device, and someone to install it and keep it running. No single company does all of that, so you'd end up hiring three or four. Then you're the one stuck in the middle, holding it together and getting blamed when something breaks between them.
